Bear-spotting is done from these unique, specially built vehicles. They have four-wheel drive and huge tundra tires about four feet across, and lurch their way around the uneven terrain at a walking pace. Inside, they are warm, spacious and surprisingly comfortable, and at the back is a balcony where you can stay for as long as you can stand the cold. We were very lucky to have one almost to ourselves - mostly they are pretty full.
