On our first afternoon, we went for a dog-sleigh ride, pulled by six huskies. The dogs live outside all year round, with a kennel to shelter from the bitterest weather - temperatures go down to -50º. Just before we arrived one had been eaten by a wolf, although that is (luckily) most unusual. The wind was howling and we couldn't stay outside for more than a few minutes, even bundled up. The event is very well organised and includes hot drinks and a nice warm building to shelter in.
