We travelled to Churchill from Winnipeg, a 2½ hour flight on a 9-seat turboprop (a Pilatus PC-12) with a tiny airline called Kivalliq Air. There is no road, and the only alternative is a 47-hour train ride. When we arrived, the wind was around 50 mph, with a temperature of about -10ºC. It was cold.
