They look wonderful when they walk. This one could have been the inspiration for Pompon's Polar Bear, my favourite sculpture which is in Le Musée d'Orsay in Paris. Their paws are huge, about twice as big as other bears', to spread their weight when they are walking on ice. Despite their size they can run quickly as well.
