After a quarter of an hour, they obviously had enough and one of them ambled off. It's just so hard to fill these long days waiting for the ice. We watched one bear - much too far away to photograph - walking on the partly formed ice. In the early stages it is quite foamy and soft, and rises and falls with the waves. From a distance we could see the bear moving a good three feet up and down, apparently quite unconcerned. |
